    Reno Pallet Rack

    Drive-In Rack in Reno, NV

Drive-in rack places pallets on support rails inside lanes the forklift enters. It trades individual pallet access for deep storage. Grocery reserve stock, cooler inventory and bulk food loads fit only when pallet quantities and retrieval order support that trade.

Compare food distribution in Minden, rail-fed inventory at Fernley’s Victory Logistics District and high-cube reserve loads at TRIC. Nevada’s Freeport law encourages inventory held for shipment outside the state; a dense layout still needs a workable SKU and rotation plan.

Match lane depth to grocery reserve stock

One-ended drive-in storage works last in, first out. Keep each lane’s product and lot assignment clear. When arrival-order rotation is mandatory, compare pallet flow or a separately evaluated two-ended arrangement instead of treating drive-in as automatic FIFO.

List the number of pallets carried per SKU, the peak reserve quantity and how often a lane empties. Reserve stock can share a building with selective picking rows without forcing every item into the same storage method.

The truck determines the lane geometry

Collect forklift width, mast dimensions, lift height and load backrest information. Pallet overhang, support-rail elevations and turning space all belong on the layout. Check the loaded operating envelope, not just whether an empty truck fits.

Rail capacity and upright capacity must cover the completed stack of loads. Pallet construction and consistent bearing on the rails matter because loads are supported differently than on ordinary beam pairs. Specify the actual pallet families before fixing lane width.

Plan entry lanes around local operations

Fernley’s rail and transload links can bring concentrated bulk arrivals. Give incoming loads a receiving zone before they enter assigned lanes. At TRIC, draw the transfer from cross-dock activity to reserve storage so deep stock does not occupy active travel paths.

Minden’s mixture of older flex space and newer 32–36 ft clear buildings needs different level arrangements. Reno’s freezing winter nights and hot summer conditions also affect installation staging in ambient buildings; cooler and freezer work requires its own operating-temperature plan.
